It seems appropriate for this to be my last post for the next 3 weeks- I am off to Bali and am giving myself a break from blogging, e-mailing and talking on the phone. It is appropriate to link to Elisabeth Gilbert’s talk below because Bali was the setting in the LOVE section of “Eat, Pray, Love”. I am all packed and ready to go and pretty much finished my latest painting:”Here I Come to Save the Day” late last night. It is based on a repetitive dream that I have where I am in DEEP trouble & way off in the distance I hear:”Here I come to save the day, Mighty Mouse is on his way!” and sure enough MIghty Mouse saves my day- whew!!-more about this later when I have better photos to share-See you in April!!

Wow- I was so inspired by Elisabeth Gilbert’s perceptive video of her talk on creativity and the Muse. I have to go check out the poet Ruth Stone after Elisabeth shared Ruth’s story of how she would be out in the field and feel a poem coming toward her like a “thunderous train of air”. Ruth would run for her cabin to grab a paper & pencil to get it down before the poem roared through & left her- though occasionally she would grab that poem by the tail & pull it back in. I LOVE that imagery!!! Speaking of imagery I just had to throw this photo in somewhere- from my trip to the Great Western Stock Show down in Denver back in Jan.
